Senator TG and the Design Council of the Philippines
Excited to see this in our inbox:

The Office of Senator Teofisto “TG” Guingona III
will be filing a bill on the creation of a Design Council of the Philippines
and launching a public exhibit entitled Design Para sa Lahat
on August 9, 2011, 2:30 PM, in the Senate of the Philippines.
In pushing for the creation of a Design Council of the Philippines, we aim to provide a forward-thinking national strategy that will use design as a tool for economic growth and social innovation in response to these exponentially changing times. Senator Guingona believes that the Filipino’s talent and ingenuity should be cultivated and supported, and must be leveraged so that we may be able to compete and stay ahead of the curve in this increasingly ideas-driven economy. We can, and we should be known to the world as a nation of creativity.
The exhibit will be launched at 2:30 PM, featuring works from Kenneth Cobonpue, Team Manila, Dan Matutina and AJ Dimarucot.
This will be followed by the Senate session at 3:00 PM, where Senator Guingona will officially file the bill and deliver a sponsorship speech.
